Why some Yahoo Account are Told Your Message Resembles Spam
While recently providing local computer support, I encountered the following error with Yahoo Mail’s email service. The user told me that yahoo mail won’t send emails on my computer. Regarding her phone, she asked:

After digging into the issue a little further, we discovered that her email account had somehow been flagged for sending unwanted spam emails. Even from their online Yahoo webmail portal, email could not be sent and we were greeted with a popup at the top telling us that resembles spam yahoo mail error. The full error text stated:
Your message cannot be sent because it resembles spam and/or contains only links. Please modify your message and try again.
So we tried again. And again. And again. Same error message as seen here:

What Does Not Work to Fix The Your Message Cannot Be Sent Yahoo Error
We found that even with a one-word plain text email, the error was still generated, so simply re-writing the email does not fix the error or restore the email service. So what does work?

Here’s what we found that fixed the issue: You most likely need to change your password and may need to wait 24 hours for the system to recognize your password has changed and allow you to send email.
Steps to change your password with Yahoo Mail:
Since changing the email password solved the issue with us being unable to send Yahoo emails, here’s the steps to do so:
- Log on to your Yahoo email account: Yahoo Email
- Open your account info (currently by clicking your profile picture at the top right, click Account Info)
- On the left menu bar, select Account Security
- Under Account Security, click Change Password
- Set a New Password, click Continue
Done? Great Job!
Now that your password has been changed, I suggest logging out of Yahoo Email and log back in. Next, test whether you’re now able to send email via the Yahoo webmail interface. If so, great!
Update your Yahoo Email Account on any Phone or Tablets:
Don’t forget to update any phones or tablets with your new email address.
If that Doesn’t Fix the Error Message
If you continue to get that error, I’m sorry to say you may need to wait 24 hours for the system to update your account. After 24 hours, if the issue persists, you may need to contact Yahoo Email Support, but that wasn’t necessary for us.
